I want to let you smartphone users know about a new free application that could save you precious minutes in a health emergency. It connects you quickly to the poison center nearest you.
The app, now available for iPhones, is at the iTunes marketplace. Just go to iTunes apps and search for "Poison Help."
The American Association of Poison Control Centers made the app and also has it available at the AAPCC website.
I've already downloaded the app to my phone and it's a great way to have the poison center right at your fingertips whenever you have a need for fast, expert advice.

The new app also offers poison prevention tips and connects users with the AAPCC website.
The AAPCC promises free apps for the Blackberry, Droid and Windows 7 smartphones soon too. Watch their website if you have one of these phones.
And know we're here to talk you calls, any day, any time.
If you have poisoning concerns or question call the toll-free national hotline at 1-800-222-1222 to reach your local poison center. If you live in Arizona outside of Maricopa County, this number will get you to our experts at the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center in Tucson. Check out our website for more information.
